Blog

Want to know what we have been up to lately? Interested in how a small PDR company works? The tools that we use on a daily basis? You'll find all that and more in our blogs.

A great start to 2017!

Adam Kendrew

Hey all,

We hope you are well. It's a long time no speak (our last blog post was over 6 months ago). We hope you are having a fantastic start to 2017. We know January can be a bit daunting, I mean imagine having to work outside in the freezing cold and snow? But it's what we do and we secretly love it anyway.

Over the next few months we'll be revamping our website and updating all our sections, to give you a lot more information on the PDR process. Hopefully we'll have some videos too so you can see for yourself how fantastic the results can be with the Paintless Dent Removal method.

Not only does a dent repair help improve the cosmetic look of your car, it can also add some extra cash to your resale value too. So even though you may be paying upfront, you'll easily make your money back and more when it comes to selling. It's a great option for lease and PCP vehicles too, then you're not hit with nasty fees when you hand the car back at the end of the term.

Below is an example of a repair we recently carried out on a Nissan Qashqai.

There are fantastic benefits to having a dent removed from your vehicle, so if you are looking for a quote and live within the West Yorkshire area then please do get in touch. Even if you're a bit further out, we can still give you some advice and put you in touch with the right people. So come say hello. We look forward to it.

We did it for Tom!

Adam Kendrew

Hey guys. Hope you are all well!

It was a fantastic day at Castle Howard last Saturday, the sun was shining and the water temperature was a nice 25C. There was some fantastic times by the team too, with our technician Dan managing to finish the course in a superb 1 hour 41 minutes while I (Adam) finished in 2 hour 24 minutes! As you can see we are proudly wearing our Tom Hairyes shirts.

We also had our very good friend Steve Ball with us who is raising money for the Guide Dogs For The Blind as part of his Captain's Charity pledge at Calverley Golf Club; he managed to finish in 2 hours and 9 minutes. Well done Steve!

It was always our plan to take part in the triathlon, having signed up in December of last year. However it was never our plan to be running in the memory of our close friend Tom Hairyes. However, it was such an honour and we are pleased to say we have raised a massive £300 in just a few weeks! This money will go directly to the Hairyes family towards a memorial bench for Tom that will be placed within the Wortley area.

RIP Tom Hairyes

But...myself and Dan didn't want to leave the funds raised at £300. We have decided to match the money raised by 50% which means we have raised a total of £450! That's absolutely amazing and we can't thank you enough for all your support. The one part I will always remember from the day, was when I was coming to the end of the run and a spectator shouted "come on keep it going, Tom would have been proud". You definitely would have mate, seeing as I crawled over the finish line!

Rest in peace buddy, everybody down here misses you.

Triathlon at Castle Howard this Saturday 23rd July

Adam Kendrew

Hey all. Long time no speak again!

We thought we would just let you know that the team will be taking part in the Castle Series Triathlon at Castle Howard this weekend and we'll be running it in memory of our close friend Tom who suddenly passed away three weeks ago.

Tom was such a honest and genuine person and is sorely missed by those close to him. In his memory his family are raising money for both the charity West Riding Kidney Patient Association and also for a memorial bench for Tom to be placed within the Wortley area.

If you would like to read a bit more and even spare some money to donate please head over to our dedicated page, any money will be very much appreciated.

Our new branding

Adam Kendrew

Wow. I can't believe it's been nearly 5 months since our last blog post. I can tell you we've been busier than ever and we have our fantastic customers to thank for that.

Over the past few months, we have been looking at our brand image. When we launched back in 2012 (yes, it seems long ago now) we weren't sure of the direction we wanted to go in with our logo. We picked something that was cool at the time and it's served us well. As we've grown as a business, we wanted to give ourselves a refresh and continue to build on our image.

Please let us know what you think, we would really appreciate your feedback.

Summer is here

Adam Kendrew

The warm weather is coming up quick and fast. The long evenings are perfect to treating your car to a bit of TLC. A wash and a wax can go a long way to making your car look just as good as it did when it rolled out of the factory.

With it being the Bank Holiday last weekend, we even decided to give our VW Beetle a brake refresh. This included sanding down the originals and painting them red and the hubs black. Just little things can really make your car stand out (that includes getting rid of small dents too).

So anyway - what are your thoughts on a Summer Pure Dents offer? Let's get them cars looking new and shiny! We'll be announcing the offer come June 1st, so check back for more details.

In the mean time if you're cleaning your car and spot a dent (however big or small) get in touch with us and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction. You'll find me (Adam) behind the emails and Dan our technician behind the phone.

Here is to 2015!

Adam Kendrew

Well, we can definitely say that 2014 turned out to be a great year!

We had a large amounts of ups and as always a few downs, but more importantly we have grown as a business and individuals. 2014 taught us that there is always something new and exciting ahead to throw yourself into. The art of PDR means that you can never stop learning and that there will always be a challenge ahead that will test your skill and patience.

Even as experienced as we are, 2014 also brought us lots of new car models to tackle; which meant exploring the best ways to access panels on these new vehicles (be it through the window or the rear lighting!). I'm sure the car manufacturers are hard at work with their 2015 variations and we can't wait to have a go on some of them.

We would like to wish all our customers a happy new year and that you continue to have a great 2015. We hope it is bringing you just as much luck as last year certainly did for us.

All the best,

The Pure Dents Team

Donate

Adam Kendrew

According to Cancer Research UK, around 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. Thats around 31 children each week. But there is one key fact...more children than ever are surviving cancer! These children are surviving cancer thanks to the generous donations by people like you. The donations you give stretch far and wide and help make the journey to recover as smooth as possible.

Just a couple of weeks ago, one of the players of our company sponsored football team, Jack Asquith was told the devastating news that his 14 year old brother George, had been diagnosed with Leukaemia. It really hits home when somebody close to you has to go through something as devastating as this. Thats why we want to do our best to help and are asking for your help too.
Jack and his friends will be shaving their hair to help raise awareness and generate money to donate to the charity Candle Lighters and the ward George will spend his time on for his treatment, L33. You can get involved and donate directly though us by visiting our donation page, where you can donate any amount you feel is possible.

This money stretches a long way and won't only help towards George's recovery, it will also help thousands of Children across Yorkshire and the UK.  We thank you for any support!

A free dent repair!

Adam Kendrew

Well as we are getting closer to 200 likes over on our Facebook page, we thought as a thank you, we would run a competition. The rules are simple, once we hit 200 likes all you have to do is the following:

1) Like us on Facebook (If you haven't already).
2) Submit a picture to us via Facebook, Twitter, or email
3) We will then pick a person at random to receive a free dent repair from us.

The competition will close one week after we hit 200 likes. Just remember regardless of the size of the dent you have, you can still enter!

Well, this is new...

Adam Kendrew

We would just like to welcome you to our new website. We have had a few changes over the last year...playing around with new designs and colour schemes, but I think we have finally settled on this.

We will be adding some more content over the next few months including:

  • An 'About Us' page, detailing the background of our family run business and the small team (or you could say duo) that runs it.
  • A lot more before and after pictures. We will try to get some more diverse pictures and also get some of work that will really impress you (its hard remembering to take a picture).
  • A page about our support of various things throughout West Yorkshire, including Calverley Golf & Country Club's Junior Team and the 6 a side team we sponsor, Unpredictables FC.

We would again like to wish our family, friends and most importantly our customers a Happy New Year and thank you for the support this year. We wouldn't be building this business without you.
